i'm sure mine had a valve to control the flow through the matrix, its on the firewal below the intake manifold

The vale that you posted up can be used, it will be much easier to get hold of than a manual OEM version. That same site sells Rotary Heater Control Knob's that link to cables which they also sell. £30-£40 should see me get the valve, knob, cable, and any ducting that I'll need.

Phil - It may well be there, its tight down there and I didnt have a lot of light.

If you get everything from that site, I'd take the plastic valve - it seems to be designed to work with the cable/knob unlike the metal one.

I havent read all the details but I'm sure the metal one works as well. The only probelm I think I'll have is that the differing size of hose attachments on the heater and on the valve. Im sure I'll be able to make something fit.

Pipe sizes are no problem man, B&Q will have bits to step between sizes as needed

I told him to weigh the parts but we had been working on the ludes most of the day without a break so the ovewhelming need for chinese food took precedence. Quite a few big metal parts in there like the heater blower and the heater matrix rad and dont forget the aircon control unit - im guessing but i rekon the weight of the parts must be in the 10-13 kilo bracket.

This is already a well sorted fast lude so any improvement on power to weight ratio will be noticeable

dash is easyish to remove, they are very heavy mind, mine was until i took the hole saw to it
