The "back-up light switch" issue may be due to the LED reverse lights, if it's not sensing the correct load?

tunrns out a beer and a think put it right.

i swapped out a load of lights for the new CREE LED lights and it was they messing with my atts 'car'ma

all good now.

word to the wise. sometimes systems cross over in ways you wouldn't guess

Like when on a 4th gen you have a brake light out, which then puts on the handbrake light, then the ABS light, then the 4WS light...

You could try and earth off the brake warning light if its just the LED throwing it. There is a writeup in the wiki for the 4th gen. Indigolemon did this for his LED lights and I did it because my brake light was on all the time
