What I meant ratty is that in the past I've had to be careful when I've polishing up metallic paint due to the tiny metal bits in it, as it can go silvery. This was on guitars I might add, but was automotive paint.
I just assumed the touch ups would be the same, have they changed how they make metallic these days in general?

Re: Shiny's Accord Type R....
With normal paint, it will be primer, base coat (metallic) and then a clear coat lacquer on top.
The touch up paint will never be perfect as it is lacquer and base coat mixed together. The proper way to do it would be to touch in the holes with a base coat and then go over them with a clear coat, but as you are talking microns of paint, that will be neigh on impossible.
The white speckles have gone from my bonnet, which is what i was trying to achieve. My previous Accord and Lude, i had the bonnet resprayed, but you can't stop the stone chips, so it ends up rather annoying.

Ah OK, thanks.
Sorry didn't mean to hijack BTW, just interested as I used to do a lot of spray work on guitars/crash helmets etc.
And I feel your pain. This is where I think we are better off with dark cars
I just use the honda touch up stick to take the eye off of the million or so chips on the front end of my lude

Re: Shiny's Accord Type R....
Little update.
Feredo DS2500's front brake pads fitted.
Rare as rocking horse jobby armrest fitted -

Bought a Tein strut brace off the ATR forum, it's been anodised like a Jackson Pollock, may not be to everybody's taste, but i fooking love it.
I really must get on with my cam cover when i can get hold of spare to use for a few days, as it is really letting the bay down
So, ignore the cam cover....
