well m3 doesnt mean its unbeatable

i know a chinese guy with a eg, jdm b18 end b16a2 head, 1.8 cams & 14" steel rims who smoked an m3 in it

his words if i remember with a cig in his mouth thinkin he is chow yun fat in hard boiled

e46 throw it in da bin (with the accent of course ;) )

but you got a fair bit of work to do then

i suggest the final drive gear as a very important mod in this case for you

Very true. It does have a stock engine, although I have seen a vid of it and its very quick and handles well.

Yeah a final drive is on my list of bits to buy. The highlights of my wish list are (in approximate order):

Paint and rust sorted
Cage fitted
Racing seats and harnesses
KSport 330mm front brake kit

Install M2P4 geabox and get an MF final drive
LSD
Lightened flywheel and decent clutch (not sure if organic or paddle :?)
Install H22a7 and tune
Under drive pulleys

Full set of Toyo R888's

whats your launch like?

port & polish your head may aswell try it yourself with a cheap head & time your 0-60..., practice your dremel on a block of something until you have a steady hand and you got an idea you know what your doing. youtube vids might help here

why not skim a bit off the head aswell for extra compression

hondata thermal intake for the extra cold air

hmm the list would be endless

by the way, what is your 0-60 time???

Yeah baffled sump for sure, I wont be running mega power so I dont think an oil cooler is needed ATM. But mabe a bigger radiator :?

Ziyaan, Yeah you could go mental with all the bits. I had a discussion with Rich from PAW over facebook regarding thermal gaskets, it's his opinion that if you do use them us only the best ones. But in general OEM ones are best.

0-60 does not matter for this, TBH I dont know what it currently is anyway, its all about rolling power and corner grip. I wont be doing any standing starts.

The car is as light as it can be (bar removing the interior blower), its a healthy ~205bhp at present, and the suspension setup is good so 0-60 times should be decent as is. With the new box inc final drive fitted and more power it should be quicker still.

would love to see a prelude in competition, dont really see it much

would all that power through front wheels compromise handling?

should you be finding the right balance here, with weight, power and stiffness?

good luck merlin, the LG community is behind you :-?

Cheers dude.

Dino seems to do alright with 270+, im only gunning for 230-240 initially (only 17% more power than I have atm). I dont think my grip will be affected at that BHP. TBH I think my Lude can handle extra power. The car is already solid through the full polybush, coilovers, Whiteline ARB's, and Spoon braces. The cage hopefully improve things as well.

I wouldnt do this yourself as you will destroy many, many H22A heads in the process...leave it to the experts with experience on what mods give increased flow and fuel mix. You will see what I mean once you read this article http://www.theoldone.com/articles/h22a_head/. However, giving this info to someone who has experience machining cylinder heads might give better results and be cheaper in the long run...
