yeh think it was called erwin, i brought mine for manifold bolts, had to use it on the rear caliper as well, same nut as the guy above, just at the rear. never fails :D you only really need the 12-14mm though one size smaller and 1 size larger would be ideal. now i know what they are called i may buy a whole set, this one fell out of the box in the shop and fell into my pocket  didnt know it was there till i got home, honest

I have the Irwin 10 piece set. They have got me out of rounded bolt bum droppings everytime. Every man should have them.

I'm assuming he means the 12 sided sockets.

/\ This! The minute I got a load of decent 6 sided sockets I've not had many issues. Those extractors are good, used my friends - need to buy a set myself actually. Also used the imperial sizes hammered on like vtecmec. A good soak in WD40 (or better), but don't leave the fluid on the nut to give it chance to slide and round off - clean the contact of it. A little heat can help to then cool and break a nuts bond - not always an option depending where the bolt is though.

Bolts and nuts can be right arses sometimes - just one of them can make a 10 minute job more like an hour!

Even worse when the feckker breaks as your winding it out and you have to start drilling and tapping. :x

these sometimes work for me, often rusted bolts just turn to jelly or snap off

then I use those drill bit things

Slightly off topic, but along the same lines: what do you guys use to remove screws when the head is damaged? I'm trying to get one of my front fogs out to change the bulb but the screw's screwed.
