Difference will be like me, piecing the parts and having the work done, spans the cost as opposed to buying another car outright.
If you're with the lude for long term, look at it as more of an investment.
Ratty's estimate ain't far off in total. But you can easily spend the same or more going N/A if you have pistons to drop in. I'll write more on the kit in the link later, but if you bought a decent JRSC kit for say £1500 tops, you can quite easily fit it straight off using the JR engine management (I have one of these spare) and JR FPR thing (think Mercutio had one?). It could run better, alot better by investing more money on a piggyback like the Dastek you mentioned, some larger injectors and a beefier clutch should be a must. I think then you'd see 235-40whp quite easily. It can be done alot cheaper than I've spent, but I've bought lot's of other things to push my build to more like 270whp (fingers crossed), and other things not related but to aid the performance of the car - only reason it's taking so long, is I want to do it all while it's off the road and convenient.
Don't be discouraged - sit and wait and one will crop up. I'll have a look on the US sites that I know there's a few JRSC ludes about and see if anyones selling or 'contemplating' selling. They always remove the kit and put back to standard because the car and kit are worth more separately, same reason everyone breaks their cars over here!
There is always the option of picking up the phone and speaking with someone like TTS and discussing a Rotrex SC build? It really doesn't take alot to mount one of these units, but we're talking a whole different delivery of the power - but you can go bigger for alot more bhp than the JRSC'd Eaton design.

I was looking at this rotrex stuff earlier, where is the charger mounted? I'm guess it's run by the crank as, other superchargers are
but where does it get mounted? Sorry could be a noob q

they can be belt driven so can be mounted where the ac is/used to be. i have even seen one with a long shaft so the pulley is on the opposite end of the engine to the chargerA1ex wrote:I was looking at this rotrex stuff earlier, where is the charger mounted? Right then bud.
The bits missing from that kit is as follows:

1 - JR Power Steering Bracket - I don't have this item, but then I have dumped my PAS. It is also used to mount the side bracket with another item, I'll show you later in another pic.
2 - JR Power steering high pressure line relocator - I wouldn't worry about this item, quite a few have experienced leaks from it and most just reuse the existing line but gently bend the OEM hardpipe to route it over the rocker cover. This is only to remove it from the side where the belt routing goes.
3 - JR Engine Management System - This is a piggy back system to splic into your ECU wiring and runs with the FMU unit below and standard injectors. I have the JR pdf's for the full installation guide which includes the wiring diagram for this.
4 - JR Fuel Management Unit - This is a rising rate fuel pressure regulator which increases fuel pressure as it sees boost from the supercharger. This supplements the extra fuel you need for the extra intake air being forced in. It's a workaround, the same as an FSE power boost valve. Just noticed there is one on ebay for £20. Gonna keep an eye on it - don't need it, but it completes my kit to use with the electronics to have a full system for a 5th gen.
5 - JR Main Pulley Bracket - Out of all of the above, this is the most important item to have for the belt routing around the engine mount and up to the jackshaft. In his pics he has 3 of the 4 pulleys for this bracket, but they're obviously no use without the bracket! However it is just a flat piece of metal cut to shape, say 7-10mm thick? I could give you a trace off mine to get one made up. Then just buy a 4th pulley - I can give you a link for one of these.
The other small brackets which isn't in the pic above are as follows:
1. JR power steering to main pulley bracket - This one doesn't have to be used as it can be held in place with the top jackshaft and the next item, the alternator bracket (which this kit does not).

2.JR Alternator Bracket - This you need! It could also be replicated if you can get the linked kit for a cheap enough price.

That's about it on that kit - so quite a few main bits. It's only gonne be worthwhile if you can get the price down and then get the other poart fabricated - you're more than welcome to use mine to get dimensions, etc.
You no doubt have, but have a read of my build thread, page 1 goes through all the parts and how they fix together:
