New mounts and iPhone holder
Providing it doesn't rain the car will be rolling again tonight. Me and 3rdGenSteve built it back up at the weekend but we didnt have the right size socket to tighten the hub nut. The car has been returned to the mechanical state it was in before it broke, with the addition of poly front ARB drop link bushes and a few new rear toe arm bolts and nuts.
The car needed its brakes cleaned up a bit. I redid the brakes when the suspension was upgraded but after approximately 50 laps of being spanked round KH and a couple of months laid up, the sliders were starting to sieze. Quickly popping the slider pins out, cleaning them, and regreasing resulted in freely moving brakes once again
. Next week its off to get the wheels realigned as I have lowered the car further.
I had changed the boot lid over to a black one with an OEM spoiler. The finish of the paint on my original one was awful plus the spoilered boot looks a little better. The new black boot lid follows my maroon and black colour theme. I also have a JDM decat (cheers Mart) waiting to be fitted which will allow me to fit a new black rear bumper with Euro lip, again following my colour scheme, and new back box.
My recent vids have been a bit jobby due to extreme brightness when I have positioned my camera near the rear of the interior. I have invested in the iPhone telemetry app Optrix VideoPro which uses the phones sensors to calculate G-force and the GPS signal to display speed and track position. Its a funky wee app that I have been playing about with and am fairly impressed with. Here is an example of someone else using it:

To securely mount my iPhone I bought a tripod iPhone SnapMount from the US, which has great reviews:

And to securely fasten that to the car another B-Hague suction mount on the cheap from Ebay. I have one of these already and its a great solid mount.

My next trackday is the 4th of July which is the first time I will have driven KnockHill in reverse, KH has just gained its reverse license. Reportedly KH is the only track in the UK with both clockwise and anti-clockwise licenses.

For this I'll be running forward facing, rear facing, and interior cameras

Re: Merlin's 4G Track Lude
Same here, the track day should be awesome. If its dry I'll be using my semi-slicks on the 4G for the first time. IndigoLemon is very kindly donating me his old 16" wheels. Here is a list of the cars attending with the tastiest highlighted:
911
200sx
Astra
Audi 80
BMW
Caterham x2
Civic
Clio x2
Cobra
Elise x2
Evo x2
Fiesta x3
GTRs (32/35)
Impreza x10
ITR
M3
Megane
Mini x5
MR2
Noble M400
Prelude
R33 x 3
R400
Radical
RS6
RX8
S2000 SC
Silvia
Supra
You can see why I want my rear facing camera sorted out. There will be some serious machines passing me.
My Lude is fully built up now but there are two issues. The front left suspension is sitting about a fingers width higher than the other corners, I hope after a drive that it settles down or I'll have to try and find out why its doing that. Also it seems that when my tyres were swapped over to the cursed wheels (Phil's old wheels) they wernt sealed properly so 3 out of the 4 loose thir air over a couple of days
. Im saving the pics for when its all sorted, it looks mean though

Re: Merlin's 4G Track Lude
They were lost in transit for 3 months and every time I have tried to fit them on the car something broke.

They look good on my car now

They aren't addressed to me so I've no idea why the heck they are there, but they are 4x114 so going to assume they are something to do with a prelude owner.. I assume it's not a Christmas present from a stalker member?
