3g parts are not the easiest to come by unfortunately.
Particularly good luck finding a used power steering oil cooler pipe in good nick - I looked for ages for those and failrd. I recall I found one that was an almost identical match, for an Aston Martin (I forget which model I'm afraid) at relatively huge expense at the time.
The rear quarter light trims are an absolute arse. The lower part is ok - clips down into the bodyside - but the bit that wraps around the back and top of the glass has tabs that effectively wrap around the back of the glass and get subsumed in the PU that holds it to the bodyside.
What happened to the old one? Was the glass removed/replaced do you know?

Yeah I totally agree, parts for it are so hard find. With the power steering cooler pipe, I was thinking of cutting the metal pipe and just diverting back with a short rubber pipe if I don’t find it.wurlycorner wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 7:37 pm3g parts are not the easiest to come by unfortunately.

The quarter glass trim was looking a bit rough, following the Honda manual I tried to remove it and broke it to 2 places. Wasn’t happy it happened! No idea how I’ll fit it when I get one because it seems impossible to get the clip behind the glass?

That will work for restoring the circuit, for sure - there's several 4th and 5th gens out there with that solution. It does (obviously) mean there's no cooling, but it's not likely to kill the car, particularly if it's only in 'occasional' use rather than a daily driver around cities. A slightly better alternative would be to loop in a section of aluminium pipe (avoid copper because dissimilar metal).arif_manji wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 8:05 pmWith the power steering cooler pipe, I was thinking of cutting the metal pipe and just diverting back with a short rubber pipe if I don’t find it
Yep - ask @Vtecmec and I how we know that, also!arif_manji wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 8:05 pmfollowing the Honda manual I tried to remove it and broke it to 2 places.

Yep, there's no way you will be able to - the glass would have to come out.arif_manji wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 8:05 pmNo idea how I’ll fit it when I get one because it seems impossible to get the clip behind the glass?
The only answer I think, is to just straight glue the trim on with Poly Urethane.

Just had a quick peruse.
Not a direct fit because the brackets will no doubt be in a different location: so might require a bit of fabrication of an adaptor plate to bolt up between the existing chassis mounting holes and the brackets on the cooler, but this would suit pretty well.

@wurlycorner thanks for the info on that, definitely a good idea!wurlycorner wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 1:16 pmJust had a quick peruse.

Luckily, I manage to source the fuel pump unit, power steering cooler pipe and more importantly, that rear window trim!
A guy on eBay breaking a gold one supplied me with the window trim, the window on his breaking was already broken so trim came out intact thankfully.

The fuel pump unit and power steering fluid cooler was supplied by a guy on Facebook marketplace called Dam Kot. He has about 12 3rd gen breaking but charges an absolute fortune for parts. For just these two, I paid £230. He wanted another £140 for the rear window trim but luckily the guy on eBay got it to me for £30.

I think I will create a post of my 3rd Gen project so you guys can see my progress and advise me as I go along.
I’m still after;
- Drivers side fog light
- Electric aerial
Thanks,
Arif

Well done finding those - that guy clearly knows how rare 3rd gen parts are and charges accordingly.
Would be great to see a thread on the 3rd gen.
