Driving a Prelude

Every time I drive the Lude, I always have the same feeling.
In Vtec there is always nervousness in the forefront of my mind, with a massive grin at the back.
Then I think, it’s a Honda, and a big smile is all over my face. I have had strange looks at traffic lights, sitting there with a big stupid grin.
They’re the losers, no Vtec!

Why the nervousness? Are you worried that something might break?
Preludes aren't just about vtec. They're good shopping cars, too. And when the the devil whispers in your ear, you do have the option of using vtec without bouncing off the limiter all the time!

Mine's in hibernation for at least four more months. I miss driving it.

I drive my prelude every day and I really enjoy it I get asked about it every week.
I've driven new cars an I fine them soulless maybe that's me but when I get back into the prelude the smile returns behind the wheel.

TBH I like the 4-5.5K growl as the dual intake opens up, especially in 3rd and 4th.

That’s the magic of driving a Honda VTEC engine! There’s something special about the way those engines come alive in VTEC that turns a regular drive into an unforgettable experience. The moment the VTEC engages, you feel that surge of power, and it’s like the car has a second personality—one that’s ready to take on anything.

What never ceases to amaze me is the sheer volume of glowing and positive comments I get whenever and wherever it's parked. Mind you, there's no hiding with a Prelude as I keep getting Whatsapps from friends saying, 'I saw your Prelude parked outside so-and-so yesterday afternoon...' Good job I'm not up to no good, or I'd have been caught with my trousers down yonks ago.
I think it's a testament to the design and engineering foresight of our Japanese friends that they created such a timeless classic. Happy days...
