Bit more work done, I had the tie rods replaced. Aligned perfectly now and apparently one of the tie rod ends was in a bit of a state.

Still got some HORRIBLE crunching noise coming from the passenger side when steering at low speeds/stopped. Thats next on the list.

Would you believe it also plays music

Also, if anyone isn't using the OE exhaust heatshield (aftermarket manifold or whatever) get it either heat wrapped or sprayed! The underbonnet temps have SHOT down. I can touch the manifold after driving, only for a second or two but its better than it used to be (couldn't stand within a meter

)

I'm sure the bays not too happy having that sort of heat blasted out all the time.

Looking nice Jay! I've yet to give mine a 'home' wash this year.
I think this is the first time I've seen the interior of your car. Very similar to mine.

The rust is starting to look worrying!

They did a good job with the bonnet and they're very popular so I figured best choice. There is another guy who might be better but I'd like a quote from both first. I think it was £1800 for the other guy, for both sides. Although I've got a sneaky feeling there was a painting cost ON TOP of that...

Success! That noise is the passenger side upper control arm!! I sat in the car while the mechanice raised it on the lift, then I turned the wheel a bit while he looked.

So I need a new upper control arm.

And a drop link, the brand new drop link I bought a month ago today has snapped

Once I've got a new one I'll return the old one for a refund.

And the bodyshop finally got back to me, £757 for the arches with new metal welded in and all sprayed up.

Not sure if thats a good price or not, but it's alot of dosh mate

I need to replace the passenger side upper arm on my lude too

Typically I only noticed it after I put the car back together again

Best price I've seen on the Island. One place gave me £1800

£380 per side for rust cut out, new metal and all painted isn't bad I don't think.

Thankfully its just the arm and nothing worse!

Plan for the weekend:

- EGR valve cleaning
- Intake manifold/chamber cleaning
- Distributor cap and rotor
- Fuel filter
- Transmission fluid
- Clutch hose

And should hopefully get those 17's/Eagle F1s out of the way on Sunday, someones picking them up

Cars booked in for the rust on the 18th April

And Honda gave me an Accord (and possibly USDM Prelude) distributor, the one that needs an external ignition coil so I can't use it

Have to get in touch with the parts department but he's out making deliveries. At least if I can't get it by Saturday its a quick enough swap.
