wchestnutt; Thanks dude! I'll have a chat with the chap. I'd rather travel a bit to get good quality work than stay local and have crap work done

I'm hoping to get the sill covers off this weekend and check how far this has gone before taking it in to have it looked at. If it's gone too far I may just let it go as I'm not going to chase it forever.

Yeah thats fair enough. i have just had the sills welded by my local mobile mechanic (£150 for both) and she went into the body shop today for a new set of arches! keep in mind the damage was pretty bad on my rear arches and he quoted around £200 + £50 for lacqure repair on the bumper

Will post some photos of the work once it has been done!

They're there to stop stones chipping the (very thin) paint.

Alright if you've covered them in goo; otherwise leave them on & learn to wash behind your ears properly.

Unfortunately one of the past owners lived by the sea so I think it somewhat sped up the corrosion process...

Unfortunately I can't collect today so tomorrow morning it is.. Just spoke to the guy and apparently all went well so I am presuming that means I won't be able to tell it has ever had any work done!........

Ok here we go... Overall it is a reasonably good finish. Gotta take into consideration that the whole arch was gone, the lips had rusted away and there was severe bubbleing from the corner of the petrol filler almost around and down the arch. it was like that on both sides.

I would say the work is 8/10.. there is one area that isn't quite as smooth as flat metal would be, but the paint blending is seamless so it isn't really noticable.. Also I think there is now slightly less of a flat edge to the arch, although I can't remember what it was like before so it can't be a drastic change. All in all, I now just need to get some wax spray sealer underneath it this week, refit the skirts properly, and I am a happy rust free lude again. Please excuse her being dirty!.. Very limited time.
