h22a8 timing belt gubbins
Post by Scott560 » Thu Aug 04, 2022 6:39 pm
I went to replace the timing belt / tensioner / hydraulic damper / waterpump etc today on my h22a8 , only to find that someone has previously swapped out the gubbins for h23 spring loaded variants.
That means I'm missing various mounting hardware.
Does anyone have either:
1) all the parts they took off when going over to manual tensioner setup / h23 setup
2) a 'normal' H22a8 (or a5 i suspect) which they are breaking for parts?
From this diagram i believe i need:
https://www.parts-honda.uk/honda-cars/P ... 01/1/24109
24 + 19 most importantly
29 also most importantly.
2x 28 can probably substitute for others
not entirely sure what the purpose of bolt 20/34/38 is but I'm missing that as well. I do think i need these as part 10 has a different 'back offset' so i don't think it will mount up with my existing hardware.
I have purchased part 18 which is part of the cambelt kit and part 10.
You can see the 24+19 at the top of this video and 29 in the middle which he removes as said is not needed:
Thanks in advance...

Hi Scott i have all the parts except 24 & 34.
Can send u a pic of parts if needed.
Item 24 sometimes comes with the new tensioner - sometimes not.
Item 34 is just a thick rubber washer - purpose of this is to hold the the cover in place so it doesnt warp......

ah that explains it then - my cover has fouled the crank pulley slightly , makes sense to have something in the middle to keep it close to the block. Looks related to the tensioner mech but just goes through it wthout affecting its function.
If you can take a picture and send it over, ill DM you my mobile, just send it on whatsapp?

Right that's most bits sorted. Just need 24 the collar part that the whole mech pivots on and then I think I'm good to go.

Still on the look out for collar #24 in the listing linked.
Was going to order from www.parts-honda.uk , but they wont ship to UK under €160 because their systems can't handle it and blame brexit lol.
