Tyre size for J7 to keep decent profile-205 50?

but that was on a smaller wheel yeah? on a 16? or 205 45 on a 17'' but how wide?

+1 I've been running 205/45/17's for years after trying lots of different size's , found them to be the best for me, nice sized side wall ( doesn't look like a rubber band or a truck tyre) and don't tramline like 215/40 's did for me....

As iv always said. Try and keep the stock tyre wall height. Overall size is irrelivant.
205/50/16 is a 4" side wall.
205/50/17 and 225/45/17 are the same side wall height. I went with 225/45 but on a 16x7

Ive had them on both, the 17's and the 16's. They were both 7" wide.

You saw them on the white wheels when I first came round to your to pick up the cooling plate template

I've heard good things about them on here, the three T's look good for a budget tyre
