Just out of interest do Sky do multicar? Like I can insure my Type-S and some other cheap banger to use daily. :!:

Tried to reinsure it with them yet? They will price you out as they have changed their underwriter. Did that to me they don't want grey imports anymore. Its now with Chaucer £176 fully comp. tesco was £210 renewal £376! JDM BB1 with decared mods,
i have read this before, think it was on puk, i had my renawal 3 weeks ago, but then i have been with them along time.
So had I six years! Still perhaps they don't like grumpy old gits with clean licences who have never bothered them with a claim!
how odd, i too have a clean licence and have never bothered them with a claim either :? :?

I was looking at buying a cheap run about for a while to use as daily. (it's a secret)

And when I get a quote for a fully comprehensive it's around ~£1k and if I do it TPFT it's over ~£4K.

How strange, it's cheaper to do it fully comprehensive then TPFT. :?

Sometimes at work when I'm free I just use comparison website to get a quote. And I'm getting quotes of over £5k to insure my Type-S.

Mega bump!

Renewal time is approaching, just had a quick look on a comparison site, went up from the quotes I was getting last year, even though I now have 0 points on my licence and an extra year on my NCB. :|

Cheapest quote is still just over 700 quid. Fully comp, mods declared. Goes up by 3 quid a month to have my girlfriend on... who doesn't have a UK licence, has only been driving 3 years and has never driven in the UK... only driving experience is a 1.4 diesel Polo  You might ask why would I want her to be insured... it's sensible for emergencies. :geek:

I'm sure by calling a few companies I can shave some money off this though ;)

My renewal was the same;

With swift cover last yr, £700 3rd party & no mods. 3 points & 5 yrs ncb

Renewal quote, £1000 3rd party & no mods. 0 points, 6 yrs ncb & same address.

Shopped around and eventually got it for £500 with mods declared through Admiral :D

Changed address and parking status, from being parked in a locked garage on a driveway in the country to a street in a city centre. I did a comparison just now and it still works out ~£130 cheaper in the city on the street than in a country garage.

:|

This year's criteria: 24, 3yrs NCB, 0 points, 0 accidents within 5 years, mods declared, fully comp.

Last year's criteria: 23, 2yrs NCB, 3 points, 1 accident within 5 years, mods declared, fully comp.

My cheapest was also Admiral @A1ex, gonna give some others ring though to see if they can beat it.
