A 1000 mile trip to Northern Ireland and a few recent motorway trips added a load more stonechips to the front of the car and in particular the new lip which was only recently fitted

Didn't take any "before" pics, i wasn't planning a write up but was asked to do one on the ATR forum.
The trouble with me is that i get bore easily, i started on the splitter, carefully blobbing in paint with a fine tooth brush, but 50 stone chips later and by the time i got to the bonnet, i was just blobbing it in and painting it on. Anyway, here's how the bonnet looks after filling in a load of stone chips -

Now the scary bit! I attacked it with the wet and dry, mainly 2500 grit (1500 in some places) and with plenty of soapy water. I did the front end quarter, if i was going to fook up my bonnet, at least it will only be the front bit!

Polished up and then re-sanded as the first attempt didn't look too good -

I didn't sand the whole bonnet, but just sanded down some of the bigger blobs and ended up with this

I then went over it with the DA & Gtechniq P1 polish. My pads are fooked, i really needed a cutting pad (i binned my cutting pad some time ago as i fell apart) and the polishing pad didn't quite give the results i wanted, oh and that is ready for the bin too. I will need to revisit this again when i have some new pads, also a couple of the paint blobs weren't thick enough and part of a couple of the stonechips are showing through, but all in all, a vast improvement -
Bonnet waxed with Heritage Wax -

And the results, far from perfect, but certainly better -

Compare this the first picture at the top of the thread -

I still have the splitter and bumper to do, but will buy a cutting spot pad before i do.
