Is that a 5th gen gear shift assembly you have in there?
i wouldn't have a clue tbh - the guy from R-motion that did the conversion many moons ago used a 4g breaker he had afaik. i've never looked at another 4g or 5g gear shift assembly

you still using this as a daily driver?
quite a different cage design to what ive seen in Merlin's track hack
looks good
and
im sure thats 4g stuff with fm short shifter set to shortest throw
sadly it hasnt been a daily driver since i first had a company car about 6/7 years ago, but it has an mot and i go for drives out in her

i would hate to daily this now, it doesnt like slow moving traffic
Yes i did look at Merlin's for inspiration but a) i didnt want to take out the dash like his to fit mine, b) mine isnt part of any racing series so doesnt need to be of any particular FIA style spec and c) i wanted the removable sides so it makes working on it and using it on drives out much easier.
The fm short shift in the pic is set to longest throw, i checked by measuring it plus it feels much slacker than before as it was on the top hole of 3. the higher it is the further away from the box it is, hence its then a shorter and tighter feel - if you compare it to the stock shifter, the cable lock is right at the bottom and so even nearer to the box again
