Good afternoon/ morning guys.
I have 1998 Prelude and was wondering if anyone could recommend the best obd reader for the 5th gen I havent checked the connections but assuming it's an obd1?
If so can anyone recommend the best obd1 or obd2 reader for it please?
I'm trying to tidy up the prelude so just thought it would be a handy thing to have for the future.
Thank you peeps
Taz

Its OBD 2.
If you want one to read fault codes, there's no need, Honda built one into the ECU and you only need a paperclip to read them.
The process and codes are in the service manual.

As others said, it is OBD2A.
To only read error codes you can just use paperclip to ground the 2pin connector and write down "check engine" flashes on the dash.
But, there is also a 3pin connector which can be used with bluetooth adapters like HonDash. It can actually datalog from 3pin connector. Not widely known, but very cool feature.
