Ratty, if it helps, I've painted wrinkle red rockers before. What I did is I painted them, let the paint dry naturally for 12 hours, and then I baked it, and then let it cool down for the wrinkles to really come through.
I need to do this to my rocker cover at some point!

Flip paint is just pearl. ALL pearls are flips but then you get the extremes like Nissan Micra Aztec
BUT for example The Nissan Aztec uses a toner called Magenta to gold which id have to order specially in at around £15. I dont carry all flip pearls. But they shouldnt be a problem to do..
What colour did you have in mind?

I looked into doing this for my project's VC. You can get the stuff... You paint the under-colour on first (obviously) and then paint the special paint on top which covers the first colour up entirely, but when heated (normally over 30 degrees C) it turns invisble revealing the colour beneath. I was going to shave off the DOHC VTEC from the valve cover and then paint it back on and then cover the whole thing with the special paint. Trouble is there's a minimum order of the stuff and it'd set you back hundreds of pounds4thgenphil wrote:can you do the heat reactive paint like the old matchbox cars?

Now if you could find a paint to achieve this without the need for plating, I'd be interested
