Power Steering Woes - pump?

Hi all,

Had my V-Reg (99-00) 5th Gen Prelude over 8 years now.

Recently developed a very noisy power steering pump. Garage suggested I get a replacement and could only find one 2nd hand on ebay. Fitted it but this is also faulty - even worse than original. And unable to find any other parts.

This could be the end of the road for this car sadly. Anyone have any ideas? She's only done 82,000 so plenty of life left in her generally.

Maybe an obvious question but was the PS fluid properly flushed out and replaced with new?

You might have been sold a dud on ebay

Maybe get a known good pump from someone on here before you give up on it

i wouldnt give up on lude for want of a power steering pump - so ive posted up an advert in the wanted section for you.

maybe say where you are just in case there is someone local that can help

arronH - Mills has one spare but cant say for sure if its 100% good as he has never heard it run - He is offering to send it to you free of charge for the part if you just cover the cost of postage. Id take him up on that offer

I'm pretty sure i've got one for a 2.2 5th gen in my box of bits from when the old one wen't to the scrapyard in the sky.

I'll check when i get home. Yours for postage....
