Anyone with a point and shoot calls themself a photographer now. Clearly your pictures are of a higher quality!

As Phil said it's a flooded hobby/job at the moment. My girlfriend just switched from photography to fine art as the BA was so commercial/business orientated. I'm quite proud of this but her work is being exhibited in a New York gallery this year that picks 31 women from around the world to represent photography and she's the youngest one this year by 11 years... her main photography lecturer this year used to just run a small portrait place in the back of John Lewis. Just goes to show that within the arts there's a lot of 'wtf is that jobby' that people pay for.

Just try not to let it bother you otherwise it'll drive you insane. There's a lot of jobby produced in all kinds of artistic areas and everyone sees it differently.

:D Thanks Gorgon, don't get me wrong, I'm not a good photographer, I make a jobby load of mistakes, and I always will, just I don't try to sell what I class as mistakes lol

What pic has your GF got on show?

Stuff from this series: http://giuliaranchetti.com/index.php?/sessions/images/

A lot of her stuff is quite conceptual (and I imagine will be boring/wtf is that jobby to a lot of people, it is to me sometimes :P), and her 'about' bit is the cringeworthy stuff she has to write to fulfil certain briefs for her course :?

Back on topic to you though ;) I do like this!

problem is people assume proper photographs are gonna be stupidly expensive, so when this guy rocks up with his prices the mugs go for it. Lets face it you have a great day drifting/track day your feeling pumped up a guy says wanna buy a photo or a cd of your day, hell yeah course you do you look at the pics but your remembering the day so dont see how bad they are as your not looking objectivly.

some thought needs to be put into it, clearly the other guy is just just taking pictures, ammo's is much better

I got some good shots by following the car with the camera, then talking a shot

not sure if that made any diifference, but it did in my mind

here is some I took last year:

Yeah that's the right way to do it, it's called panning

If you've ever fired a shotgun, to hit what you are shooting at you follow the target but keep swinging the gun after you have pulled the trigger, if you stop when you pull the trigger you miss

Same with a camera
