You not fancy coming up for a weekend @wurlycorner? Vanzep's got a nice car for you to work on and we can have that pint

When there is time I'll come over and we can have a good look. Did you have a look and see if the drain bolt and drain bolt crush washer are ok? On my 5th the crush washer has disintegrated and allowed fuel to leak out. We did fix a fuel leak on this car before I am sure but there are a few metal pipes in that area that will rust.

thanks for the replies and suggestions.
yeah ive repaired the main line before with a bit of putty. It was just a pin hole right underneath the fuel union - with the cold weather it must have opened up a bit. no leaks from the drain bolt etc
if i could find a breaker that had the lower part of the union with a bit of pipe then i could maybe piece it back together - if not then dropping the tank and making a new line would be the only other option as far as i can see.

Excellent news Phil
Im planning on getting a start on this quite soon - cant bear to see the BB4 just sitting there
I have cleaned up the spare tank and lines but i dont have a spare fuel filler neck or tank straps so hope i can get the old ones off and clean them up and refit them ok.
Pics of tank ready to go:

You can see the pics of the fuel union (upper half from the tank) the leak i have is from just underneath the lower section that goes towards the front of the car....still not sure how best to fix it but id best make a start on taking it apart - maybe i can get the main line off and have a replacement or patch section made up...just not too sure at this stage.

Excellent news Nick - Glad you have opted to fix it.
That's a pretty clean looking tank. hopefully you can get a couple straps if you find them new let me know they are on the list to buy.
