Ok, weird one but if you up plug the temp sensor on a prelude on a prelude the fan comes on. Does your temp gauge work?

Wouldn't that be the same as just unplugging the thermoswitch? Not sure I follow.

If you unplug the sensor for the temp sensor for the gauge it kicks the fan on, not unplugging the the fan switchNafemanNathan wrote:Wouldn't that be the same as just unplugging the thermoswitch? Not sure I follow.

Just an update to this thread.
I purchased the Cambiare thermo rad switch. (the one in the ebay link)
The install was straight forward, the under trays were abit fiddly to remove and a couple of the clips broke
Once the under tray was removed the rad switch was easily accessible.
Before removing the thermo switch I disconnected the connector from the old rad switch and connected it to the new switch.
I turned the car to pre ignition and the fans stayed off which confirmed the diagnosis. (the old rad switch was stuck in the closed position)
You will need a 24mm deep socket to loosen and tighten the thermo switch.
I only realised this last minute so popped into my local halfords to get one. (note: deep socket is a 1/2 inch drive)
https://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools ... -1-2-drive
Removed the old and installed new, coolant leaked out for a second or two but wasnt too bad.
Started her up and ran the engine for around 10 mins or so.
Fans kicked in as normal
No bleeding was required.
Thanks for your help guys
Amazing savings over Genuine Honda part, hope this one lasts.
