The exhaust sprocket seems to be sitting closer to the head than the inlet (or is that just the picture?)

I can't really imagine someone wanting to remove the cam sprocket to replace the belt?

Call me cynical, but its a strange failure, i would put money possibly on the garage that did the work fudging something up... I did something similar once and ended up with lots of bent valves shortly after i did the belt (not a honda). Perhaps the sprocket was weakened somehow on removal or refitting?

It's a long life stainless exhaust. Was made last year. Must have been due to same reason as you.

So if the Cam timing marks are still lined up...
This probably only needed the Cam gear replacing and new belt, to get it back on the road?
