I get 33mpg out of my 5th gen h22a. Thats with driving like an angel around town and freaking insane driving elsewhere. Im not on the motorway much so cant comment on what it would do on a motorway run. The auto used to get about 24mpg iirc so yours sounds as if its doing good.

Not by much really - the air con and less mpg thing stems from the "yuge" 'murican cars where the compressor was permanently engaged. Anything newer than the 70's has a compressor that can be engaged and disengaged magnetically. Yes ac on my car or van makes no difference to mpg.

My ludes are super efficient - they've managed infinite* mpg so far this year
