ABS Speed Brake Sensors
I'm in the middle of doing the 2WS conversion on my 1995 4WS Prelude, using the 2WS subframe from a 5th gen Prelude. I was wondering if I need the ABS Speed Brake sensors that are bolted onto the LCAs, seeing as my ABS doesn't work and I am going to remove it at some stage anyway. Are these sensors used for anything else, or are they only used for ABS ?

I cut the wires for the following items, but am concerned that they are labelled in parts diagrams as Speed Sensors -
57470-SS0-951
57475-SS0-951
Am I correct hat these are ONLY used for ABS, and if I have removed ABS ECU, removing them will not affect normal operation of the car ?

Used by ABS and 4WS systems only dude, vehicle speed is read from the VSS on the gearbox.
When you say cut the wires, are the sensors to plug sections intact and you chopped the loom? If so, I'd take them off your hands? The rears for 4th gens are like hens teeth

I tried to unplug them, but couldn't get access to the plugs (was working one handed, due to a strained wrist), so got frustrated and cut the wires, just shy of the under carriage plug (i.e. between the plug and the sensors). Dunno if you can strip back and solder the wires, but from this point back they're intact. If I'd known they were so rare, I would've tried harder to get them unplugged.indigolemon wrote:Used by ABS and 4WS systems only dude, vehicle speed is read from the VSS on the gearbox.

So... can I also remove the sensors from the front wheels ?

Yeah, the 2WS non-ABS ludes had no wheel sensors
