These are all questions we need to ask the men in Brussels - this law is making my job a bit of a nightmare given I work for a company that produces web-appsA1ex wrote:if a cookie is unbstuctive why do I need to know about it?

Merlin - the login cookie is allowed. As by signing up and logging in you give consent. Anything else like board preferences or our usage tracking stuff requires this message.

That is exactly what I'm worried about. For our work website obviously we use session cookies, so we may have to notify the user. Most of them won't know what the hell we're talking about and either phone up to complain/ask or just not use the website (which is pretty integral to the whole process, they have to submit things online).Merlin wrote:I didnt want to click anything as I didint know what it was.
Thankfully as the session cookies are an integral part of the site and required for it's functionality we may not need to have a big "are you ok with this" banner and should be ok without having to change much.

Tweaked, should now vanish after you say "Yes" (like the man from delmonte I assume)
