speedo correction

Post by A1ex » Thu May 03, 2012 4:19 pm

So,

Just had 205/45/16's fitted to the lude and obviously as I've changed the tyre profile from OEM the speedo is now out :?

I was wondering if there is anything that can be installed to correct the signal and get the speedo back in line?

You'll likely find your speedo was out already. OEM is set to under-read. Go for a drive somewhere flat with a GPS, you might find it's not as far out as you think.

I did that yesterday.

With the 205/45/17's it was almost exactly right but now if my speedo is reading 80 I'm actually doing around 72-73.

as for the signal, yes there is. you cant buy one, you would have to construct one - but yes its fairly straight forward. the vss sends a frequency depending on speed (vss is just a magnet and coil) i do have the frequencys somewhere, i will see if i can find it, but it could simply be divided by a percentage same as delimmiter

Well the speedo is 10% over all the time so I just go 'faster'. Littlefeller, the link above is to a product you can buy which does it, I think :?
