Switch for blanked off hole in 5th Gen dashboard

There is a blanked off oblong hole next to the headlamp adjuster on a 5th gen dashboard.

What function is that used for ? Presumably an extra non standard facility!

I have refitted the cruise control and have had to take out the temporary foglight switch to make room for the CC switch.

It won't fit directly into the spare blanked off hole but is there a switch I could use to put it there?

All advice gratefully accepted.
