Lowering the lude - help

Hello guys!
I'm in a bit of a pickle at the moment.
I really want my car lowered, but I currently dont have that much to spend - I will, in a years time...

So, I was looking at cheaper options to lower my Lude - Nothing more than 3 cm front and 2cm rear.
Do you guys know any specific spring combos that do this, or close?

Or have any of you tried with the coilover sleeves on stock springs?
I just want this setup to last me a year, and not cost a buttload over 200 pound-ish.
I've found these coilover sleeves, but I've read somewhere on the interwebz that sleeves on stock shocks was stupid?

Nothing wrong with lowering on standard lude shocks - plenty of here have done it.

The yanks love coilover sleeves. Brits hate them and think they're dangerous.

If you want to lower for minimum cost, safely, best solution is pick up a set of new or used lowering springs and fit them yourself. There are LOADS of manufacturers out there selling new springs for a lude.

don't want to join the civics either driving slowly over or around the speed humps
Saw car lowered so much the other day that the guy was going on pavement to avoid the speed hump

Has anyone actually had any problems with the coilover sleeves, or tried them? I just want to be able to change it to remove the gap I have between the fender and the wheel.
That front gap of mine is like 7-8 centimeters, I just want it evened out a little.
Springs just lower it a bit too much for my taste, as my rear doesnt need a 4cm drop, then it'll scrape...

I lowered mine with Apex springs, 1 year ago I paid 135£ from ebay for the pack, it lowered my 4gen 35mm front/rear.

With 17x8 wheels, I'm quite happy, as to rub, I defo need to go really fast in bends or roundabouts...and to scrape, needs to be a massive speed bump to do that.

And still confortable to drive, stability improved too.

No, I don't scrape at all

Errrr Yeah I’ve used them to raise my crv and back when I was at college I ran sleeves for approximately 5day and that was enough

You see the issue is the spring isn’t usually seated to get the low you want .... thus going over a bridge spiritedly or on a bumpy road and the spring will unseat sit against your tyre and just generally be Tom tit

Mines lowered on 35mm H&R Lowering springs on standard shocks. They're about £200-250 new. gives a nice drop and little to no difference in comfort. DON'T get coilover sleeves they're jobby and cheap and will kill your shocks in 6 months. I've had them on another car and they are terrible

Hmm. Fair enough.
