Hi Guys,
The power steering has gone on my 5th gen at the pipe in front of the radaitor , where it loops. First question is can I just cut it out and replace with rubber, as Im guessing its in front of the rad for cooling ? Second would be any one have a clue as to the diameter of that pipe .
Thanks in advance for any help.
Clay

I looped it using some rubber fuel hose - probably 10mm. I looped it close to the inner chassis leg rather than down by the rad, cutting the pipe with a hacksaw blade (no room to get a hack saw in there)
Either way its a bit of a pain to get to and fluid will end up everywhere.
I can't say i noticed any problem with the lack of cooling on my h22a5 - but the again other than PS failure there isn't much to go on. Worst case scenario the fluid gets a bit too hot and needs changing more regularly, but the fact your going to have to top it up after the job probably makes it better than if you hadn't had the problem in the first place.

Yes the metal loop is there for cooling.
You can loop it with rubber hose for a short-term fix, but for the long term you should replace with metal.
Honda-hardy found a focus item that was a straight swap in. Hopefully he'll be along to fill in the details, or if you look up his profile you may find them?
