4th JDM Heater Blowing Low Flow of Air through Vents
Post by arif_manji » Thu Nov 30, 2017 8:59 am
Hi fellow luders,
I am having an issue with the heating with one of my ludes. Its a JDM import and heating flow is really poor. I can hear the heater fan but the flow of air through the vents is such a low flow to hardly any.
Is this a known fault and fix available?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

i think this could be an airlock in the coolant systemarif_manji wrote:Hi fellow luders,

Its odd - doesn't seem to have a airlock? I'll double check again.Drax wrote:i think this could be an airlock in the coolant systemarif_manji wrote:Hi fellow luders,

I just checked, no matter what setting you press on the climate control, its stuck on the feet and air is blowing normal. So looks like despite what you press on the climate control, its set on foot heat. I'm assuming the mechanism is stuck?

Hi. Not sure if this helps..... I noticed on my 4th GEN (UKDM) that the ventilation ducting (if that's what it's called) behind the dash between the center and steering wheel was VERY loose. This resulted in pretty much no air coming out the side vents. Just thinking that maybe you could be suffering from something similar ? Center vents on my 4th gen blow pretty well, as long as fan is on full. Seems that increase in air flow is not gradual, but rather a very little on all settings except full.
I thought that airlock would stop heating from coming on, and not affect airflow as such ?
- EDIT - Oops, you entered an update while I was typing
Yeah sounds like it's stuck

Sorry if this isn't of any use, but I saw this video while searching for removing the climate control (I need to change my LEDs). Maybe you need to resolder ?

I think the climate control unit is working all ok, i think its the motor actuator might be stuck or broken? Are these easy to replace?uberNoobZA wrote:Sorry if this isn't of any use, but I saw this video while searching for removing the climate control (I need to change my LEDs). I'm sure someone else can answer you on how easy it is to replace those - I certainly can't
That said, this IS a Honda, so once you find out how to do it, the process should be simple enough
