Recomendations needed! - brake discs / pads

Looking to get some new brake discs and pads, ive read on the forum that mtec discs/pads are actually reasonable

Just wondering if its worth the extra money getting uprated discs and pads? And if so any recommendations would he welcome

I don’t see the point of upgrading to the current brakes unless you’re tracking or driving really fast on the roads, so stick to OEM disc and pads.

Next Best option is to get some Accord type r front callipers ans carriers (dual pistons) and then have OEM 300 ATR discs and pads. That’s what I have on my Type-S.

Ive always stuck with oem spec discs and pads but i got given a set of uprated front discs and they do make a difference. Cant remember what make they were.

Bremdo,Padgid or Blueprint make good discs/pads OEM equivalents.

I wouldnt bother looking to upgrade the rears in any way

I run Bremtech 8 grooved disks on the front with Ferodo DS2500 pads. Delphi rear disks with Pagid pads. Track on the front and OEM equivalent spec on the rear. Works very well for me but my car is mostly driven on track with road driving being to and from track and the odd weekend fun ride out. Bites very hard when heated up and doesn't fade. Have to be careful when they are cold.

These by any chance vanzep? There vttr discs. As said decent discs and pads make a huge difference. I run the mtec stuff on the front of the torneo and no problems so far.

Accords Type R calipers and carriers, atr oem 300mm discs with Hawk Hp+ pads.

Oem rear discs with hawk hps 5.0 rears.

Epic breaking. I mean really really good.
So much front brake dust though. Even after a few turns the front wheels are caked.

Following on from this it seems like ATR brake upgrade is probably the best shout

Ive found a breaker - are the callipers and carriers a straight fit?

I run yellowspeed pads on oem discs con the front. Under heavy downhill braking I have overheated the fronts before. Apart from that they perform above oem spec pads.
I've also got atr callipers that need a refurb from newkid but until i can get them shipped from the uk i can't fit them!

Yep thats them - VTTR discs - i run them with OEM pads which is fine for daily driving - if i was to do any track days would prob need to upgrade to ATR front calipers&carriers.

The ATR calipers and carriers are a straight swap onto the lude - only issue is clearance so larger diameter wheels needed

Oh damn, i got DC5 alloys on my lude, will it be fine with these?
