All the while I had my 2.0 5th gen the only thing I kept thinking was, it's not the 2.2 vtec model.

I've not driven the 2.0 but I can't imagine it's as exciting as the 2.2

The 2.0 is a very nice drive indeed. Admittedly it's not the full fat of a VTEC, but it's a fine motor.

Vtec is addictive. I love coming out of a roundabout next to a diesel bimmer or similar looking to blast past and stretch the 2.2 up to 8000rpm

And I hate coming off a roundabout next to them at 2000rpms after I've been used to driving my wife's dsg Leon turbo!
