Indeed. Still I fappin love the sound of the mugen. Seriously...wow.NafemanNathan wrote:The Twinloop won't be a restriction on a standard engine though. My H22a7 with only Type-S intake, Full Mugen exhaust system and S2000 injectors is tuned to 242bhp and 172lbft torque.

I fitted an OBX twin loop to my 2.5" custom exhaust on my BB4 a few years ago - no issue with it whatsoever-like others say twin loop is a great sound but its is fairly raspy at high revs but that might be something to do with the plm tri-y manifold.Craig_85 wrote:Thanks for the replies guys.
Part of me liked the idea of a brand new shiny system especially as you can listen to them on YouTube first. But they are not cheap and if I can't get the sound I'd like it would be an expensive mistake.
What's going through my head at the moment is getting an obx twin loop muffler from the states in the less retrictive 2.5" piping and get that made up with 2.5" piping and a long central resonator in the b pipe.
It just feels a bit odd putting something on this car that is not genuine Honda or a quality brand. I guess I would always have the mint original exhaust in the shed for the car. The obx should stand up to 3k miles a year and beibg garaged, if I'm saving money and it sounds great then i guess I should be happy!

Thanks again for the suggestions I knew people on here would have some experience of various systems.
Wow, that's giving me ideas. Is that with adjustable cam gears and which ecu?NafemanNathan wrote:The Twinloop won't be a restriction on a standard engine though. My H22a7 with only Type-S intake, Full Mugen exhaust system and S2000 injectors is tuned to 242bhp and 172lbft torque.
Thanks for that really helpful info. Did you put a middle box in and were you de catted?vanzep wrote:I fitted an OBX twin loop to my 2.5" custom exhaust on my BB4 a few years ago - no issue with it whatsoever-like others say twin loop is a great sound but its is fairly raspy at high revs but that might be something to do with the plm tri-y manifold.Craig_85 wrote:Thanks for the replies guys.

I'd say it must be, or the Obx box itself as the Mugen Twinloop isn't raspy, it's a gorgeous deep purr.vanzep wrote:twin loop is a great sound but its is fairly raspy at high revs but that might be something to do with the plm tri-y manifold.

My mugen was raspy. However it was modified. I much prefer respyness. That's the problem with my 3"er. It's too deep. Adding a 3rd silencer to hopefully quiten it a bit and add raspy.

I've definitely had "raspy" and deep exhausts, and my Mugen is certainly in the middle of those. I'll try and get a video once I get my lude back to give an idea. The sound has certainly been enhanced since I've ripped out the back seats and all the sound deadening
