Yeah not a fan of the Fidanza as it is an alloy flywheel so it cannot take heat as well as forged steel. In my car the Fidanza keep releasing the pressure plate bolts as the metal was expanding too much and allowing the bolts to come loose. I did it to me twice before I binned the Fidanza.

There is not much of a price difference so I would recommend a solid one piece forged steel flywheel. I use the Competition Clutch Ultralight forged flywheel and have not had the same issues.

Was the Fidanza releasing the bolts in your race car, or under normal driving?

Yeah the race car but I am sure it released them pretty quickly. It was years ago, I'll have to check, but I don't think I even did one race day before they slackened.

I think under normal and even fast road driving the Fidanza holds up perfectly well. I'll be tracking mine with the Fidanza soon enough, so will report back then.

Years ago (+7 years) I used to read about how if you bought a Fidanza flywheel it was wise to remove the pressure plate bolts and refit them using a strong Loctite.

I am using Fidanza and lightweight pulleys for fast road driving for about 8 years. No issues, just benefits. Also not so many miles during those years, it's not used for real daily driving.
I am planning to change the clutch kit maybe this year, so I will take a look at bolts.

I Loctite'd them each time, after the first time bough brand new bolts too, and it still happened.

I think most Loctites are heat resistant to around 150'ish degrees C, but I guess under extreme use (What yours would have seen) the clutch plate could reach in excess of that.

I know my car will sees temps in excess of what most cars will, but for the difference in price (not much) I'd like the comfort of having a forged flywheel. Same reason why I don't use alloy wheel nuts on any of my cars, they are soft and intolerant to heat.

Oh yes, I 100% agree, hence why I have the CC Ultra Light for my big build. I just happened to pick the Fidanza up cheap years ago, so thought I'd get it fitted when I had the ATR clutch fitted in what was my daily drive at the time.

I too also only feel comfortable fitting steel nuts these days... Though partly because there's too many fake alloy nuts out there
