What happened to the 'Sense of Community'?

I used to frequent plenty of forums a few years back.
Now this is pretty much the only one I go on anymore, and thats just because of the friendliness, like-minded people and great banter.

Same for me really, I browsed a few Honda and Prelude forums and found this was the most friendly and helpful (def. the right 'vibe'!). My original comments were about the wide Honda community in the UK not about this forum which I've found to be really welcoming. It just seems to be a lot quieter than in days gone by and I wonder if that's because there's fewer enthusiasts or just too many places online to 'meet'?

It has got worse for the ATR. £100 for a fooking arm rest or £100 for a pair of fog lights. Why? Because some chump actually pays it! £150 for a rusty strut brace or £150 for used K&N typhoon that sold for £200 new. £300 for a fooking seat! The list goes on.

I bought my arm rest for £20 from a scrappy and a set of good front fog lights for £20 from the scrappy.

It's the "enthusiasts" that rip you off these days. Not all i may add, but most.

Where we would once say "do you want this before I throw it away?", we now ask "do you want to buy this before I throw it away?"

Sums it up nicely and don't disagree with any of the sentiments posted earlier.

That said I personally find Ludegeneration a relaxing forum with no trolls, cliques, etc. Huge knowledge base and always friendly.

I can understand professional scrap yards/breakers buying cars to break and sell on eBay etc. at high prices but when so called enthusiasts do it to make a fast buck on forums like this, it does annoy me.

It's all facebook and instagram nowadays, There's a facebook group for everything. Problem is 90% of the people on there are cockcombles. Although I have bought and sold a few nice items via fb.
