Honda UK are pretty decent at solving things in my experience. I bought a 2 year old 1.8 Civic and within 6 months the top suspension mounts were rattling. I went back to the Honda dealer who fobbed me off with "is a consumable/wearable part" and outside of warranty, I countered with "that's bullshit, my 20 Prelude is still on its original mounts".

Reported the fact to Honda who paid for the dealer to replace the whole front shock, spring, top mount unit, and washed and hoovered the car as well

I've had Honda UK to the rescue before, long time ago. Dealer misdiagnosed fault and needlessly replaced exhaust gas recirculation valve and claimed I needed a new ecu, when it was just a dodgy connection. Honda acted quickly to remedy the situation, as they have this time.

Also big shout out for Marshall Honda, York. They dropped all labour costs with Honda providing the parts for nothing. Fresh Autotensioner was supplied as well, along with belt etc.

What an absolute jobby, sorry to ready that. Glad no lasting damage done.

It's not the autotensioner itself that has failed there, just a bolt.

Probably over tightened. Glad they have done the decent thing and not charged you for repair.

I had exactly the same issue. But at the time I was blaming KS manual tensioner. I thought maybe vibrations or something which can be dealt by auto tensioner. Luckily noise of rubbing belt made me to check it. No engine damage as well.
With new bolt installed and about 5k miles later still using KS tensioner everything is fine. It was my first and only cambelt job ever but since then this bolt is on a list of must have to do with the belt

I don't actually remember even touching this bolt...
I guess possibly because I didnt change any of the pulleys. Where is it?

Ah yes, pivot for one of the pulleys.
Didn't touch that one. No need to, unless you are changing the pulleys.

I had a similar one on my lude Honda tamworth did the belt ,tensioner etc and it worked its self loose no damage they put it right for me .
