Crush washers perished

Post by vtectom » Wed Jan 18, 2017 1:07 pm

This is the second time I've had the aluminium crush
washers deteriorate on a rear caliper banjo bolt & cause
the brake fluid to leak.

Anyone else had this problem?

never seen this in 17 years of owning a lude :?

maybe use copper crush washers instead of aluminium ones?

Not used them in this application but in general they're supposed to be single use. Replace them with new ones every time would be my advice.

Never had that problem myself either.
(And also... never replaced a brake caliper washer, either!)

Very weird...

Only ever used copper and never had any issues. Sounds odd to me!
