You don't need to bell them out from the ecu (you will have to pull the interior apart to get at that) there are plugs for each sensor on the body (orange coloured).
The plugs for the rear sensors are under the rear of the car (follow the cable back from the sensor and you will see them). The plugs for the front sensors are on the inside of the inner arch (i.e. inside the engine bay).

Seems the offside rear sensor is open circuit.

Best place to get a replacement, please?

Ive got a set of rear abs sensors which ive put aside for my BB1 they look like they are brand new hence id like to hang onto them but can sell you one if you cant find one elsewhere.
I did see a full set of abs sensors up for sale on ebay for pennies. will try and find the link for you ;)

Yep, second hand is definitely your best bet.

I think this might be the problem:

Actually broken into two pieces!

Replaced with a 2nd hand one from eBay (actually from a member here) and all is spiffing!

Split apart! Wonder how that happened - maybe a stone hit it or something?

Anyway...

Just corrosion of the base plate has caused the plastic bonded case to shear I reckon.
