you should be fine with your wheel an offset choice with 215/40.

ii'm running et38 wheels with 215/40 with fairly low car and everything is good. from aesthetics it would even require some adapters to bring wheels more out of the arches.
i'm using 7" wide wheels, but that 0.5" is not playing that big of a deal.

i'd say go for it and it will look great and handle beautifully :)

Beautiful car rrobis, I think the fitment looks spot on.
It's good to hear real life experience as well as "internet knowledge".
I'm hoping to notice a good difference going from stock to 215/40-45.

Ignore overall size. It's overrated. Tyre wall is part of the suspension. I have ran 215/40 and 215/45 runs much better. I run 245/40 at the moment and it's the same overall diameter..
Ratty in what way do you mean it runs better? A softer ride ?

Handle better. Much better. Tyre wall plays a big part in the correct camber curve.

Well that sucks. I was pretty set on the 215/40 size, being the same diameter as stock and being able to get the semis cheap.

I'm going to start looking at 215/45 tyres and see what's about.
Thanks for the heads up.
