Just emerged from under the rear of my newly acquired gen 5 (2000). Having spent my working life designing and building special production equipment, I am embarrassed to admit that I have never seen such a collection of struts, links, stifflegs and pivot points and I haven't the foggiest notion of how it all works. I had assumed it to be 4ws but perhaps not. If so, would the driver be mounted to the rear and about the center line of the car. Mine has a formed steel subframe with solid links out to the wheel carriers. I have a little bourbon left and I'm going to pour it in a glass now.

You will have an electric motor that looks like a small steering rack mounted between the rear wheels on the subframe if it's 4ws, it's a pretty obviose piece of kit being a man of engineering I'm sure you would identify it straight away :)... I think you have a 2ws 5g if I've understood correctly..

Thanks Jebb
I'm guessing that had the car been designed as only 2ws, this collection of parts would not have been necessary.

All UK VTEC's (4th or 5th gen) are 4WS from the factory. But someone may have converted it to 2WS.
