Get a 5th Gen. Way more room in the back.
I couldnt get my Nieces child seat in the back of the 4th Gen without the front seat fully forward and the back of the seat hitting the child seat.
In the 5th Gen i can get it in and roll the seat back and forward a bit and have legroom.
But i agree on the Mazda 6. Great car.

Mazda xedos 9 (2.3 millers edition).
Well within budget. Every toy you need and is supercharged. Slap on a smaller pulley and hey presto, more oomph.

Ticks all the boxes though, and loads of room, especially in the boot.bristol_bb4 wrote:what can i get that has 4 doors (or maybe just has plenty of room in the back) with a nice interior but has some power/is fun?
tempted by an accord but my mrs says its fugly
They are fugly in 1.8/2.0 guise, but the ATR still has a some turn round and look it appeal when you park it up somewhere. Bring her down and she can sit in mine, the bucket seats will make her wet. The riding position took some time for me to adjust as I was led down in the Lude and the CC7, but now I love it, easier for a fat drokk like me to get in and out of it too.

Got one for the Mrs a while back and she drives it like a granny, but it has the B18C in it and about 165bhp IIRC.
Goes better when I drive it
Can get loads in it, all mod cons, smart if you get a clean one. Probably cheap now too.

I am in a similar boat at the mo. What about this - I was looking today (get shot of my Mazda5 bus (we hate it and found this

'03 plate Volkswagen Passat with 59k and FVWSH for £3.5k. If you notice the wee badge on the front it isnt your regular Passat - its the 4 litre W8 version that has all the bells and whistes and goes like stink. Only prob is it has a combined mpg of 21.5mpg

Hmmm some interesting suggestions lol
The only estate I'd ever have is an rs4, even then I'd need to be 50+ LoL
Volvo - just no dom just no! Lol
I do like the all of the mazas that have bEen mentioned though! Worth looking at!
Shiny, I might have to take u up on the offer of letting her jump in yours! I didn't turn my nose up at an atr infact I've been nagging at her for a while that we should get one as a family car, I've used every excuse in the book! Same engine so easy maintanance, cheap to buy, cheap to run, its a honda blah blah blah but she just doesn't like the way they look
Does it feel like a big car on the road compared to the lude? Only reason I ask is because it'l be her first car!
Cheers for all the replies so far! Keep em coming
