Timing Belt Adjuster Bolt wont leave, HELP

Post by TheHondaTuner » Fri Aug 19, 2016 3:28 pm

Hey Guys. Its me again with more technical issue -____-

Already a week ago i tried to remove the Bolt (90016-PT0-000) as i wanted to swap the tensioner system. After Its welded-on Nut died on a 2 meter arm.. I decided to keep the hydraulic system after serval failures with my R-conversation just to get the car finally running again..

So i put everything together and took me some trys to get that hydraulic thing tight in. Then i found out i have the wrong headgasket and start by zero. So with all my Luck the tensioner broke into pieces on my last try.

I think iam going to buy a new one, but looks like delivery is 1-2 weeks. yay. But as i have the manual kit here I wonder if anyone can suggest me how to get that bolt out? I tried to put on 2 Nuts with even bigger arm. Then the Thread died aswell.

I thought about welding a giant nut on, but if that goes wrong i cant even go back to hydraulic tensioner. And i dont have a welder..
Did anyone else had that issue?! I mean its literally over 9000 (newton  )
Not sure what to do now :(

I suppose it would be difficult ( because ofthe lack of place) but you can try to heat the bolt and then suddenly cool it.

So, good luck ;)

Molegrips (if you can get them on) and some heat and/or freeze and release spray :-)

If you have enough room, you can also try with a tube wrench ( don't know if the word is correct  ) and freeze it, like said before :D

So, once again, good luck! :D

Honda bolts are good quality and hard for drilling so make sure your good at getting it spot on, welding a nut on and heating the stud up till its cherry red should be your first try.

Thanks for the Info guys, right now i just fixed my broken auto-tensiner. Its just not hydraulic anymore :D
I drilled the opening on the bottom wider and put some flat head screw into it, measured the the perfect size of teh screw and cut it off. the tension was not bad. Iam going to keep it like this for now. Car is running, even though still have some issues
