The Type-S / H22a8 air box looks good in there. Shame they didn't put that intake on all the Ludes.
Yep will have another go at bleeding it on level ground ;)
If not then maybe need to grab the iacv of the 5th gen that @newkid is breaking - im assuming 5th gen iacvs will be the same :?

cheers buddy

gimme a shout when you start work on yours and will see what can be done to help :)

difficult one though - do you do bodywork first.....probably as it easier to put a new engine in if you hit mechanical issues further down the line. have you managed to get it running?

not running yet but official offer in on a new house last week so the poor lass is still sitting in Dundee the now and when we get the all okay for the house (which has garage and drive) then i will be getting it moved up here but it would be really good to start doing the little jobs that dont/wont cost too much i.e. rocker cover off and cleaned and sprayed, engine out and all new belts and pullies and then wheels off and suspension off and cleaned up etc interior all jobs that wont cost too much to begin with. Having the new house and the wee one :D
think once i have it at the new house and get it at least started i will know better where i stand

bouncing idle is now solved :)
some idiot forgot to reconnect one of the small vacuum hose to inlet mani

it did need bled again though as there was a fair bit of air in the system;)
i also had to buy a litre of green coolant to top up as thats is whats in it - it may be a good few years old as i dont think Honda do green anymore and there was a fair amount of crud in the bottom of the expansion tank so looks like the coolant system needs a full drain & flush.

good to have one lude fully working as the BB4 has a fuel leak at the tank and i dont fancy driving it around in this hot weather reeking of shell unleaded :x

Re: BB1 MTF and Super Crack

Post by vanzep » Mon Jun 06, 2016 7:03 pm

ok so IACV replaced and all is good but ive been struggling to get it into first gear so decided to do drop the old gear box oil and have a look :)

bit of a shocker but the pic says it all - its as black and cloudy as you can get
took 1.8 litres out and replaced it with 1.9 litres ofTorco MTF
Image

took some doing to get the fill and drain bolts out and im wondering if theyve ever been removed and if the MTF that came out is the original MTF it left the factory with

got the bolts out thanks to the new big spanner - known as Super Crack ;)

Image

gear changes still feel a bit notchy especially first gear but i will give it a week or two to see if it cleans/clears up - might need to drop the MTF again :?

Next up is replace the old green coolant, flush and refill with new super red.
