A race to Blackpool? A Reliant (or two)?
All rather derivative, but that was only to be expected. The previous format was a great success, so why tinker with anything unless the lawyers say you should?
The trouble is, Evans doesn't look or sound right in that environment. LeBlanc brings another flavour, so might work out.
It's too early to tell, I guess, but it didn't impress.

I liked it too.
LeBlanc was really really good actually. I thought he was an interesting choice but didn't expect him to be that good! Proper lol'd at his upturned smile gag
Sabine was excellent too, of course.
I like the rally cross track idea, although I think that might have compromised the fastest bit of the course a bit, so not sure if it's working?
Evans is fine imo. Good in the studio, but doesn't work well on voice overs.
As for the rest, it's a tough gig picking up from the previous bunch, but that had got quite stale in places anyway. it'll take a while to get into it's own swing.

I lost interest in topgear back when it was still Clarkson, Hammond and May.
I'd be tempted to give the new series a try, but I drokking hate Chris Evans. Can't stand the rhubarb in any format, have no idea how he exists as an entertainer.

Me too. Too much mucking about for my liking, not too far away from stooge levels.jjmartin349571 wrote:I lost interest in topgear back when it was still Clarkson, Hammond and May.
I dint think last night was too bad even though Evans was a bit excitable. I have not seen the after show but I am wanting to see Chris Harris as I like his youtube channel (well the Chris Harris on cars /Drive channel). I actually liked Matt LeBlanc much more than I thought I would have.

So many people on facebook getting butt hurt because the usual 3 don't present it anymore. Think of it this way. ... you now have 2 car shows to watch.
I thought the new top gear was decent, Matt was on point as always. Evans is a shouty gentleman's sausage though, tone it down or get rid. The trip to Blackpool was pretty pointless. I enjoyed the rest though.

I personally found it quite painful to watch and that was because of Chris. I went to race of champions the back end of last year and they were filming a segment there and he just ruins it for me. But this was never going to please people either way. If they kept the same format they would have been ripped apart for impersonating the previous guys, if they changed everything they would get ripped into for ruining what top gear was.
Generally just wasn't my cup of tea, removed series link and won't be bothering again

Evans definitely ruined it I think. Its been mentioned before Matt Le Blanc and Sabine are a good addition but theres something missing.
Chris Evans just felt like he was reading from a script, where as the old trio had their own character. As good as Matt Le Blanc was, I couldn't help but wait for a "Joey" moment. Atleast the old trio were original.

I came before the chicken.. The argument is now settled!!
