4th Gen headlights are like candles. That was my biggest peeve with my 4th gen after rust and the boat wheel.

yep 4th gen lights are poo!

halfrauds bulbs are bum droppings IMHO! expensive and dont last! i had mine 4 months before one blew and swapped them for night breaker! the still working halfrauds one looked as if it was 5 years old even after 4 month use :evil:

Hummm...were on about the Halfords Extreme Brilliance or the Super Brilliance.
Think it was the extreme i used and they were great. But yes the Nightbreakers were equally as great and cheaper too off tinternet.

i used the ones a step down from the most expensive ones, i think! i should check the box which is in the garage!

@phil: good to have a direct compare on the two types offered. the nightbreakers sound like the choice for the cash.

they should last a year at least imo. they always blow come autumn though :roll:

Best bulbs I have ever used are the Philips Xtreme Vision +100%. Highly recommended, and in my 4th they look like anything but candles. Nice colour too, not really blue, just very bright and slightly cool white.

One blew after about 2 years but then I don't do many miles.

They come up on ebay 2nd hand unused occasionally.

Iv used these too and yes they are also a good 3rd Contender.
