Ok so after doing the test that wurlycorner surgested about testing the up an down play in the drive shafts. I would say there is more on the passenger side. What dose this mean ie do I need new one or is there a fix thanks

Ok so now have come to the conclusion that I need new drive shafts. As on Monday had a very scary drive home at about 70 ish driving down the motorway had me from Cheshire oaks. All of a sudden hole car started to shake a lot as if a wheel wight had come of but a hell of a lot worse. My question is are 4th an 5th gen shafts the same because I have looked for new ones on line an as suspected there listed as 4th an 5th. But I have a 4th engine an gear box in a 5th gen. So need to know which ones to get thanks for the help

no the 5th gen has a wider front track but we dont know where the difference is it could be in the cv or in the shaft

people swap gearbox's between 4 and 5g's so the gearbox end is no issue its whether the shaft will fit your 4g cv joints and if they will fit your hubs thats the unknown buddy sorry i cant help more
