Looks mint with that paint job, that rust treatment process is new to me too,but i like stuff that eats other stuff

It will be a hell of alot better than it was, mint might push it too far,a very clean and well looked after 4th gen is the goal to aim for.

When did you last drive it?

So nothing was done last weekend, too busy with other jobby.
Finally managed to get over there at 3pm today
Doex had been on there for 2 weeks by this time. Jet washing was the only option
Out into the daylight.

Everytime I see a lovely original white bb4 on here, I think... WTF have I done colour swapping it
Then I go and see it again 8-)

Anyway. Onto the actual work pics, all washed off:

The Deox stuff is really good, it must be said.
Another session would have completely finished with the final light covering, but I don't have the time and as it is will be fine.

It all needs rubbing down around to key it in and level off, but I didn't have the time today and the rest of the surface would have oxidised again by next weekend, so gave it a quick covering with etch primer to see it through to next weekend.

So big push next weekend, light rub down to smooth in the edges a bit, key in the original paint, clean and de-grease, etch prime, white filler prime, white top coat/s.

Also, fwiw, Halford's etch primer dusts all around a lot less than U-pol but is much thinner/more runny when it lands.

Oh. And apparently one of the springs decided to shed its skin while parked up in the barn the last week...

Nope. It literally just appeared over the last 2 weeks while the car was just sat there!
Definitely wasn't there when j had left it last, cause I was under there in that wheel arch, applying the deox.
I can only think the sudden cold snap caused it?
