Car looks good and sounds like you got some good plans for her..

+1 on the adjustable skunk2 coil over springs and sleeves... They will be probably even stiffer and if your shocks aren't knackered already they will be after a week or two of daily driving with them on... Had some cheep ones on my civic years ago and genuinely made it dangerous to drive!

You could put updated shocks on with them but by time you spend money doing that you might as well just save about more and get coilovers... I got my meisterRs off eBay for about £350 and I can honestly say they are brilliant, can be made as soft and comfy as you like or click em up and they are solid, I liked a freaking insane drive but was daily so in the middle was perfect... Go coilovers, you won't look back...

Decided against the Skunk2 springs (now to see if supplier will take them back). I got a used set of shocks and springs from @preludemanh22, and will use those to get the Prelude back to 'normal' height, so I can at least driver her comfortably, as her wheels are scraping when hitting the smallest of bumps, due to them being bigger and wider. In the meantime, I'll save up for a proper set of coilovers, which I can then adjust whenever I need to.

Driving down to meet up with Dave on Monday, I broke the cheap ass Amazon Basics cigarette lighter adaptor, plus it's inconvenient having 2 things plugged in right by the gear lever (dashcams and satnav), so I'm going to look at hard wiring them into the fusebox, so it's all hidden away behind the dash.

Not really good / comfortable with messing with electrics, so hope I don;t blow anything up :-) Following a guide someone wrote up on another forum, so should be simple enough.

You could do it a more simple way. You can use a piggy back fuse splitter and wire it into your foot well fuse box.

I use these to provide power to some of my interior gadgets.

Yeah sorry, that's what I meant. :D

On my Civic someone else spliced some cigarette lighter adaptors to the back of the lighter in the dash, but I'm going for the simpler of option with the 'add-a-circuit' things.

I'll use the add-a-circuit to connect to positive in footwell fuse box, and then connect the grounds to a screw connecting to the body next to the fusebox. Getting my 'well proportioned frame' under and behind the dash for this job should be interesting though :-)

Not been doing much on the lude lately, due to horrible weather, and still not having moved into our barn yet, but did get round to doing the following -
  • Removed all roof trim, in preparation for moonroof install
  • Painted front strut brace (the one I bought on LG) b;ue and fitted it. One of the round 'feet' of the strut broke (old, rust, and being dropped on it's end will do it), but it still fits in place and is held solid with two bolts, instead of three
  • Detached 4WS ECU and left it sitting where rear seat used to be, so I could install rear strut brace (JapSpeed one - also painted blue). unfortunatelky, the feet do not sit flush against the body, so have to grind a little off (from strut, not body) to make it fit
  • Fitted gas shocks to the bonnet so I don't have to work around the bonnet stay when working in the engine bay
  • Tried to fit a cheap 'universal' CAI, and failed miserably, as the pipes were completely the wrong size and shape, no matter how I combined them - will save up for a proper one rather

As we hope to move into the barn on Friday, as soon as we've sorted access to the barn (it has a horrible ramp on the doorway, which needs sorting for our low cars), I'm hoping to get cracking on following -
  • fit the OEM shocks and springs
  • moonroof conversion
  • put back the 'sports' rear silencer to see how she sounds now that she doesn't have a massive hole in the exhaust
  • spraying the spare rocker cover I bought with wrinkle effect black paint
  • fit braided brake hoses
  • fit EBC Yellowstuff brake pads
  • replace all filters
  • drain oil
  • drain brake fluid
  • fit rocker cover gasket
  • fit custom silicone radiator hoses
If all goes well, I'll have all the above done in time for JapFest
