1991 JDM BB1

Post by vanzep » Tue Mar 08, 2016 4:12 pm

Ok so i give 5th Gen owners a bit of stick sometimes :)
but ive always liked the motegi alloys - so finally got my hands on a set that came off a 2 Litre 5th Gen(4x114).
Cleaned them up and painted with upol silver wheels and 2k clear coat.
just need to sort out some tyres 205/50/16's and they should be good to go

also noticed the other day that someone has been right along the drivers side of the car and my once pristine arches are no longer pristine - damage is only to paintwork over front and rear arch and there is one long deep scratch about 5 inches long on the front wing - ive also noticed there are three small dents low down on the drivers door - depressing stuff

polishing it up has improved it slightly - guess it could have been worse :x

Sorry to see somebody has pranged your car mate :( I had mine scraped end to end too, some dipshit nudged it in a car park and carried on parking, they creased the door as well

such bad news about the damage.this is my biggest fear about parking in car parks and public roads. Its happened twice to me once in my old civic eg and once in my immaculate Black ek4 vti :( People have no respect to even leave a note and apologise.

on the plus side alloys look great and the damage looks like it wont encourage rust hopefully!

im fairly used to this happening in the street or at the supermarket - normally its just damage to front or rear bumper - not happy its over the rear arch but its not moved any metal its just paintwork

go over the scratch with 2000 grit sand paper till your happy this will make the clear coat look dull so then u need cutting compound a medium buffing pad on a rotary or da polisher on a medium speed will come up great pop down ill do it for u

Shame about the prang dude.
I seem to get this alot too. No one seems to have any respect for other peoples property on the road
